I’d like to extend my sincerest appreciation to all those who have volunteered on an SMPS Chicago committee during the course of the last year. Our events, membership engagement, Chapter communication and sponsorship outreach would not succeed without the efforts of each one of you. Thank you!

We are grateful to the 38 chapters who participated in the SMPS DERBY! All participating chapters put forth a recruitment and retention strategy and worked hard over the last three months to execute their plan to GROW their chapter’s membership and the Society. THANK YOU!

SMPS Wisconsin June 16 – Madison Building Tour and Happy Hour

Join SMPS Wisconsin for a tour WiscNet’s new World Headquarters by Strang. This fresh and contemporary work environment juxtaposes neutral finishes with branded pops of color, custom vinyl wall coverings and branded signage. The floor plan was specifically designed to optimize views and exploit natural daylighting. Frameless glass systems throughout the space maximize light penetration. Additionally, 13 skylights and 3 solatubes provide natural daylight into central areas. The introduction of a 20′ living wall in the main entry offers an outdoor connection indoors.

WiscNet is a membership organization that provides research and education networking services to public and private higher education, K12 school districts, libraries, municipalities, and hospitals throughout Wisconsin. Strang’s interdisciplinary approach resulted in a new World Headquarters that exemplified WiscNet’s unique DNA through design. The tenant build-out was completed by Vogel Bros. Building Co. and is a mixture of closed meeting spaces, open collaborative areas and enclaves strategically placed to encourage structured and spontaneous collaboration. The goal with these spaces was to create flexible breakout space that connects people. Sliding glass partition, walking treadmill workstations, and a Work Café are all additional features of this modern and innovative workspace.

SMPS Wisconsin Milwaukee Building Tour and Happy Hour

Join SMPS Wisconin for a tour Drexel Town Square - Oak Creek's newest retail, commercial, residential, and civic development, on the corner of Drexel and Howell Avenues, with much of the development completed or soon to be completed. Reminiscent of a traditional downtown, the new development includes a real Main Street - Oak Creek's first - with a new City Hall and Library on a town square, surrounded by retail stores, restaurants, shops, businesses, and apartments. All of this, with lots of open spaces, walkways, and charming amenities like a splash pool, ice rink, and a farmer's market. The site was completely transformed from a former manufacturing and technology development center, originally built in 1957, into a vibrant civic center and focal point for the City of Oak Creek. It's not "just like downtown." It IS downtown.
