Improving your proposals (Remotely)

Working from home brings its own set of challenges. It can turn a simple task into a daunting one. When you and your team are trying to put together a top of the line proposal (or complete any task), it is important to respect everyone’s time, including yours. We all should be maximizing the tools we have to communicate more clearly. This article discusses ideas on how your team can put together an A+ proposal. When you can successfully collaborate and communicate with your team, you all will benefit from the results. This year has probably driven people who don’t have patience crazy but we all need to have it. We don’t know what your co-workers are dealing with at home. Making the effort to engage with team members can make a difference. Asking how the person prefers to communicate can help get tasks done efficiently. If you have the opportunity to speak with a team member over a video chat platform, it can make all the difference. I, for one, prefer face-to-face communication so, this year has been a struggle for me. Talking over a video chat platform allows you to be able to make eye contact and use body language. It also gives you the chance to make sure your team members have the same goal in mind, gives them a chance to communicate their ideas and share their insights. Bonus points if you can speak to someone outside of your team to receive non-biased feedback. This year has been hard for all; your team should celebrate wins, even small wins. It’s the small things in life we need to learn to be thankful for, especially this year.
